Bird 01_ Kingfisher

My fascination with birds started at a very young age. My parents and grandmother always called different birds by their exact names. This was also a bonding moment between my grandmother and me, telling stories about how many different species we have seen and which ones we dream of seeing one day. Years later, I often disappoint other explorers of the Kruger National Park, as I eagerly take pictures of an Arrow-marked Babbler, while everyone who drives by tries to find the lion cubs that they assume we are looking at.
